Took less than a minute to get the new back on the phone, plug in the mat and begin charging. I forgot to time the charge, but it seemed a reasonable length of time. I used the phone for text and web browser, as it lay charging on the mat. The new back does not interfere with the phone being holstered in its original case and the screen switches on and off with removal/insertion, respectively. I wonder what the units longevity will be. - Great item. Especially when the item is close to the bed. No need to plug and unplug the phone to check messages and such. Bad, lights are a bit bright(staus lights)
